Tuesday, More like Me Day

I was hoping today was Monday so the title was more appealing. C'mon, 'Monday, more like Me Day' sounds sooo much better BUT LET'S BE HONEST, IT'S A TUESDAY.
So today I took the day for myself to have a little me day. I don't exactly remember when the last day I ever had time to myself to just relax, but it's been long overdue. Now it took some time, but I'm one of those people who genuinely enjoys my own company and I like being by myself. Sometimes I talk to myself, but who doesn't have those moments?
I felt bad about going out and not being productive though, so I still took my books with me to study HAHA OOPS.
It's currently Autumn here in Melbourne, but feels more like Winter. However, I constantly tell myself "If you could handle Winter in New York, Philadelphia, Seattle and Canada, you can handle Winter in Melbourne." which is what gets me going through the cold, rainy windy days. But what better weather to snuggle up in a cute cafe with a book and a cup of coffee? Exaaaactly. What else would I be doing?

I checked out a cute little cafe called Flipboard (Melbourne CBD) which gives you the small and cosy vibes you crave on a cold morning. Sitting on a chair made of newspapers, by the windowsill with a cup of coffee and the view of the city. Listening to the sound of soft chatter and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans floating through the air was my definition of relaxation.
There was actually a group of guys sitting at a table not too far from me, and they were discussing the topic of people taking photos of coffee. Guilty.
This caught my attention, and I did unintentionally listen in on this discussion. "I just don't understand why people take photos of their food. Like, why?"  Ha. Ha. Ha. If only they knew, as I was in the middle of taking a photo of my coffee by the windowsill.
I feel like I'm one of those annoying people on Instagram who's always uploading of food, and I probably lose a lot of followers over that. HOWEVER, you win some, you lose some.
On a sad note, my phone actually died before I could take a pic of the actual coffee :(
I had to wait 20 mins before I could turn it back on HAHA

So my original plan was to study at the cafe with a cup of coffee, but that didn't exactly go to plan as I didn't realise how small the cafe was. Soooo next stop: State Library. Yeah, nothing special but my goals to smash out some study was definitely exceeded. There's no better feeling than the satisfaction of being ahead of your work and preparing yourself for upcoming assessments and just getting yourself involved in hard work. Hard work pays off, and surely we all learn from it. Unfortunately I'm not one of those kids who are naturally talented or super smart. Was not blessed with those features (goddamnit mum and dad, you had one job).

After smashing out some study, I was rewarded with the company of... TONIA!! Always my favourite part of the day to catch up with Ton over some more coffee. I was so ready for cheesecake, however we had to stick to Ton's fitspo plan, which I was NOT going to ruin!!

I thought it was about time to give myself a relaxing day to get my shit together, and I have absolutely no regrets. When you feel like you need a day off to sort of relax and give yourself time to re-evaluate your life, DO IT. One day will not hurt, and will make you feel better and remember to reward yourself!! It is so important to spend time with yourself (not saying it in a weird way) but get used to your own company! The only person who will be there for you for the rest of your life is YOU.

Adventure awaits,
Love Mich xx
